OMG of the Day

My senior picture (was a junior when we took it.) I'm pretty sure my hair is straw. Don't you love being at a parent's house?

What's Your Airport Style?

I'm flying to visit my mom in St. Louis tomorrow and every time I fly, I wonder what to wear on the plane. Should I be comfortable and sort of cute in Lululemon yoga pants, Nike's, a tee shirt and a cardi? Or should I wear a dress with leggings and sensible heels with a boyfriend blazer? I wish I could look like this! Skinny jeans are out for me. They're not comfortable enough for a flight. Same with an outfit that has too much going on; I'm anxious and claustrophobic on the plane as it is. Derek Blasberg, Editor-at-Large of Style.com, has written a book called Classy, which devotes a whole chapter to airport style. (I have opinions on the book as a whole which is for a post to come.) You can read what he says in the picture above. I agree with most things, but some are unrealistic. There's no way I'm wearing knee high leather boots and carrying seriously ouch-worthy bags.

For me, it mostly depends on the time of day I'm traveling. 6 am flight? Yoga pants win. Since I don't have to leave until 10 am tomorrow, I should put a little effort into it. I can't get too dressy because I finally bought a functional, not very cute, backpack. It will just be for traveling! I'm ordering a much cuter one for every day use. I feel like a big dork in it but at least I'm (mostly) neck pain free!

I'm thinking: My cotton hunter green wrap dress, black leggings, gold Toms, black boyfriend blazer, glasses (my contacts get uncomfortable from plane AC,) and I'll blow dry my hair and bangs and NOT wear a headband. Since my mom is the first person I'll see when I get off the plane, and she's uber critical of my look, (grrr) I'll probably wear my bangs to the side because she hates them forward! Thanks, Mom! OK, I'm rambling about my hair. Tell me what you wear when you fly! Do you think it's important to look classy? Or is that too old-fashioned?

Natalie Portman at LAX
She looks so comfortable!

Jessica Simpson looks really cute. It's pushing me to dress up.

No one does casual and cool like Jennifer Aniston.

Halle Berry rocking something very similar to what I'm thinking.

Camilla Belle has great personal style.

I know Ashley Olsen looks a little crazy, but I really love it. Anyone know who the pants are by?

The End of the High Waist?

Thakoon

Marc by Marc Jacobs

John Galliano

Celine

What do all these looks have in common? A major dropped waist! Style.com has a slideshow showing this look from every major runway. I don't know how I feel about it. I have one drop waist dress that I feel so frumpy in. This is definitely a hard look to pull off. I mean, who wants to highlight their hips? My hourglass shape craves a belted waist. What do you think? Do you guys like this look?

SATC2: Red Carpet

The best part of Sex and the City for me has always been the fashion. I know it's supposed to be all "girl-power," blah, blah blah (it's really the opposite of feminist but that's another post.) I don't know if I want to actually see the movie; can someone take pictures of all the outfits for me instead? I think it would be a little obnoxious if I went to the theatre just to take snap shots. Anyway, let's check out the clothes from the premiere and tell me who your best dressed is!

Kim Cattrall in Naeem Khan and Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino.
Kim looks STUNNING-OMG her body? Unreal. SJP's is growing on me a little. I wasn't sure at first. The neon is on trend and different and the shape gives her some curves. Do you like her new extra blonde hair?

If you would have told me that a strapless bubble gum pink dress would be my favorite of the night, I would have never believed you but this stress is beautiful. It fits her body to perfection and the hair and make-up is right on.

Cynthia Nixon in Carolina Herrera
I really wish she would stand up straight but I'm a big fan of her and this dress. It suits her, don't you think?

I know don't who Vanessa Williams is wearing but I think she looks hot. Doesn't she always?

Jennifer Love Hewitt is obviously at the premiere and obviously in Herve Leger. Boring. Her body looks beyond awesome but it's just all so...obvious. And her bangs make me want to grow mine out. Sorry.

Super cutie Gabby Sidibe might as well be going to hang out at the mall. Step it up, girl!

I really liked this Black Willow sheer jumpsuit on the runway (Fall 2010) but it doesn't look right on Jessica Szohr. The chunky shoes aren't working and the pants need to be hemmed.

Smile Michelle Tractenberg! You look really pretty in your Notte by Marchesa dress!

The queen of SATC-Patricia Field

LIZA! Thank you for wearing all silver.

I like Amanda Peet's Isabel Marant dress and Prada heels. P.S. I need to learn how to stand like that in pictures, without breaking my ankle.

WTF is Ashanti wearing. And wear is Ja Rule?

I LOVE Becki Newton's Celine jacket but where are her pants?

I feel like I had to put this in because, I mean, she IS the author and without Candace Bushnell, there would be no SATC. She's wearing Miu Miu Spring 2010 and it's pretty enough but the top doesn't look like it goes with the bottom.

Super delish shoe designer (and boyfriend of Nate Berkus) Brian Atwood

John Corbett

Chris Noth and his beautiful girlfriend (Have you seen their baby? OMG)

One of my favorite designers ever, Zac Posen

Johnny Weir!

The After Party! Kristen Davis is in Pierre Balmain Couture and SJP is in Elie Saab
Which do you like better?

Love this Store: Urban Vintage

I've been to Urban Vintage about 30 times since it opened. I love it! It's a perfect addition to the neighborhood (and it's 3 blocks from me.) The food ROCKS; I had a delish whole wheat waffle with kiwi, strawberries and walnuts on Sunday and it was only about $7.00. Not to mention, the preparation of the food is impressive. We know I'm super picky, and I've loved everything I've had. As treats go, the green tea cookie is the best! And Josh loved his wheat-free apricot thump print. I have an iced tea addiction, and they will ice a million different teas, which is amazing. I'm sure they have good coffee too but I don't drink it. The girls who run the place are so cute and CRAZY nice. It's definitely not like the pretentious Brooklyn cafes I'm used to! ;)

LOVE the curtains! They just went to the garment district and bought fabric.

Oh, did I mention there's SHOPPING?!?
