Outrage at screening of dying Princess Diana photo

By MICHAEL SEAMARK

Crash: A photographer is first to reach Diana's smashed up Mercedes in 1997. The public have never seen close-up images of her dying

A shocking paparazzi photograph of a dying Princess Diana is to be screened for the first time in a documentary about her fatal crash.

Unlawful Killing, which will be shown at Cannes this week, is backed by the actor Keith Allen and Mohammed Al Fayed, whose son Dodi died with Diana.

Icon: Diana's fame has meant that her death has been the subject of intense scrutiny. An inquest - held a decade later - found she was unlawfully killed

The 90-minute film will include a graphic black and white close-up of Diana taken moments after the Mercedes carrying the couple crashed in a Paris underpass.

The distressing image, Diana’s blonde hair and features clearly visible, has never been publicly seen in this country.

It will be shown around the world but not in the UK, prompting Allen to say: ‘Pity, because at a time when the sugar rush of the royal wedding has been sending republicans into a diabetic coma, it could act as a welcome antidote.’

Similar pictures shown to the Diana inquest jury had her face heavily pixelated.

Allen, in a piece for the Guardian newspaper last weekend, said: ‘My “inquest of the inquest” film contains footage of Diana recalling how the royals wanted her consigned to a mental institution, and the coroner repeatedly questioning the sanity of anyone who wondered if the crash was more than an accident.’

He said he asked every major UK broadcaster to commission a TV documentary about the inquest but they all refused.

Backers: The film, Unlawful Killing, is being supported by Mohammed Al Fayed, whose son Dodi died with Diana, and left-wing activist and actor Keith Allen, right

He said the film was being premiered in Cannes ‘because British lawyers insisted on 87 cuts before any UK release.

'So rather than butcher the film, we’re showing in France, then the U.S., and everywhere except the UK.’

Getting ready: A screen is prepared on the beach for the 64th Cannes Film Festival in France, which is where the Diana documentary will be shown

Mourned: The gates of Kensington Palace adorned with tributes in 1997

Jemima Khan's agony over tweets falsely accusing her of fling with Jeremy Clarkson

By Arthur Martin

★She fears her sons will be bullied at school over allegations
★Clarkson and his wife send text messages comforting Khan
★Twitter user who made allegations now has 40,000 followers

Jemima Khan, pictured outside her London home, has been hit by false accusations that she took out a gagging order to cover up a 'fling with Jeremy Clarkson'

Jemima Khan says she is ‘trapped in a bloody nightmare’ after false allegations on Twitter that she had an affair with Jeremy Clarkson.

The message claimed incorrectly that intimate photographs exist of her with the Top Gear presenter.

Writing on Twitter yesterday, she said: ‘I’ve woken up trapped in a bloody nightmare.

Jemima Khan has received a text message from Jeremy Clarkson, seen out and about in Belgravia, saying: 'I'm sure I'd remember if any photos of us existed'

Jemima Khan took to Twitter to deny that she had taken out a super-injunction

After waking up to an escalating situation she tweeted about the nightmare she was having

Anguish: Jemima Khan now fears the effect it will have on her children

Responding to a journalist she expresses her fears over the false allegations

‘I hope the people who made this story up realise that my sons will be bullied at school because of it. Plus I’m getting vile hate tweets.’

The celebrity political activist said she was particularly concerned about her elder son, adding: ‘My 14-year-old would never talk to me again. He’s painfully shy and hates any fuss.’

Only minutes after the claims were published on Sunday, 37-year-old Mrs Khan denied having an affair with Clarkson, saying the allegation was ‘untrue and upsetting’.

‘OMG – Rumour that I have a super injunction preventing publication of “intimate” photos of me and Jeremy Clarkson. NOT TRUE!,’ she tweeted.

A minute later she added: ‘I have no super injunction and I had dinner with Jeremy and his wife last night. Twitter, Stop!’

She added: ‘The proof that I haven’t got a super injunction is that the papers have printed my name (and no one else’s – for fear of being sued).’

The socialite received supportive text messages from both Clarkson and his wife Francie after the allegations emerged.

Clarkson used humour to dismiss the claims. In a text to Mrs Khan he said: ‘It’s odd. I’m sure I’d remember if any photos of us existed.’

Despite the denials of all concerned, some Twitter followers wrote yesterday that they still believed the allegations.

Mrs Khan is no stranger to the secret world of injunctions.

In March it emerged that she, her brother Zac Goldsmith and his former wife Sheherazade obtained injunctions from the High Court to stop sensitive emails obtained by a hacker from being published.

At the weekend, TV presenter Gabby Logan issued a fresh denial over false rumours that she has had an affair with BBC colleague Alan Shearer. She was again trying to damp down internet speculation sparked by a privacy injunction granted by a judge to a different TV star

The trio asked for the injunctions after the hacker accessed the email accounts of the two women and threatened to sell personal secrets to newspapers.

The woman hacker, identified by the High Court as BCD, accessed the Hotmail accounts in December 2008.

The family was alerted by the newspapers. BCD accepted a formal police warning.
Last week BBC TV sports presenter Gabby Logan protested to the Daily Mail that she had been wrongly identified on the internet as someone who had taken out an injunction.

She said she was ‘devastated’ at false accusations of an affair with colleague Alan Shearer.

The addition of Jemima Khan to the list of people wrongly identified as taking out privacy injunctions has deepened the impression that while men benefit from privacy law, women are often victims.

Last month Appeal Court judge Lord Justice Ward gave a landmark privacy ruling in favour of an adulterous entertainer, saying he should not be named because his teenage sons might be bullied in the playground.

The effect of the judge’s ruling is that the entertainer’s teenage sons are safe from playground abuse, while the sons of the innocent Mrs Khan are exposed to bullying.

Russell Brand is not such a sex god in his ghastly white Y-fronts

By SARAH FITZMAURICE

Tighty-whities: Russell Brand parades around in his pants at his hotel in Miami

He proudly boasts about having had sex up to 20 times a week with a gaggle of beautiful woman in his heyday before marrying Katy Perry.

But reformed lothario Russell Brand looked a far cry from his old, leather-trousers-and-teased-hair self today in Miami.

The comic actor paraded around in a pair of unflattering white Y-front pants during rehearsals for his upcoming film Rock Of Ages.

Pretty in pink: Russell Brand in a pair of lilac harem pants as he takes a stroll on the boardwalk in Miami

At one point the 35-year-old put his hand down the back of his underwear as he gazed at his phone.

His revealing attire put Russell's pasty white, gangly body on display.

His appearance by the hotel pool harked back to Rhys Ifans' infamous scene in Notting Hill, where he poses for photographers in his grey pants.

Perhaps Brand thought his tighty-whities were preferable to the lilac harem trousers he was sporting earlier in the day.

Snap happy: It wasn't long before fans spotted the Arthur actor and Brand obliges by posing for a picture

Russell, who is married to pop princess Katy Perry, decided he couldn’t keep his pantaloons to himself and strutted his stuff on the boardwalk in Miami clearly in the Spring mood.

And wearing the statement trousers meant he was quickly spotted by some fans with whom he happily obliged posed for pictures.

Yesterday Brand started his day in a pair of super-short exercise shorts as he greeted the morning taking in the view from the balcony of his waterfront rented property.

What's so funny? As the girls walk off they are giggling. Was it excitement at meeting Brand or because of his silly trousers?

Didn't fancy footwear? Brand changes to a pair of white trousers but opts to liberate his feet from shoes

Taking the plunge: In New Zealand, Brand's wife Katy Perry braves a bungee jump before her concert

He tweeted: 'Where can I do stand up in LA please? A bit folky and lo fi where food is not served and people are gentle? Much love.'

While Brand is soaking up the sunshine in Miami, his wife Katy Perry is in New Zealand on her California Dreams tour.

The singer braved a bungee jump ahead of her concert tonight, tweeting a picture of her in mid-jump.

Simon Webbe gets a good luck snog from new Greek girlfriend ahead of Eurovision final

By Jessica Satherley

Kiss good luck? Simon Webbe was spotted picking up his new Greek girlfriend Maria Kouka in a London park and kissing her passionately

Before he jetted off to Düsseldorf to compete in Eurovision, Blue’s Simon Webbe was treated to a supportive kiss goodbye from his Greek girlfriend.

The love-birds couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they frolicked and snogged in a London park.

And Simon got so hot and bothered by 24-year-old Maria Kouka that he tore his shirt off, exposing his well-defined six pack.

The Eurovision hopeful, who will join his Blue boy band mates in Saturday’s grand final, has even convinced Kouka and her Greek friends and family to vote for him.

Simon, 32, told the Daily Star Sunday: ‘Maria and I have been together since February and she’s been really supportive since I’ve been busy preparing with Blue for this Saturday’s competition.

‘She’s even asked her friends and family back home in Greece to vote as they are eligible to vote for our UK entry from over there.’

And by the looks of their park affection, there’s no doubt that Maria will be voting for her new beau.

The pair were even wearing matching outfits of jeans and army-green vests on their day out, alongside Simon’s British bulldog.

Shirtless frolick: Simon took off his shirt and revealed his well-defined six pack as she chased Maria around the park

Maria was born in Athens and lived in Africa and the US before moving to London, where she works as a model.

She says on her website of becoming a model: ‘I knew it was going to be difficult, but I didn’t care how much I would have to struggle, the hours I would need to put in, or the sleep I would lose out on!

‘All I knew is that I had a dream and no one or nothing was going to stand in my way.’

The All Rise singer’s new relationship comes after splitting with his long-term love Layla Manoochenri.

His former girlfriend of six years ended her relationship with the singer after arriving home to find him on bed with The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Sims.

Layla, 24, told the Daily Mirror: ‘I got inside [the bedroom] and he was in a compromising position with Chloe in the bed. The freaked out the moment they saw me.

New love: Simon and Maria have been dating since February and she he has convinced her and her Greek friends and family to vote for Blue in the Eurovision contest

The ex files: Simon Webbe with his former girlfriend of six years Layla Manoochenri (left), who dumped him last year and Maria Kouka with Jersey Shore star Pauly D (right)

‘She had a little white dress and was on top of him. He had no top on but had his jeans on. The lights were on in the room so I had a very good view and they looked like they were in the middle of something.

‘I stood there and laughed, what else could I do? I just turned on my heels and left.’

After the incident made headlines, Simon denied having an affair with the Essex star and his spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Simon 100 per cent categorically denies having an affair with Chloe whilst he was with Layla.’

But as he puts the past behind him, his new romance with Kouka seems to be heating up and she wrote on his Twitter page today: ‘Good morning beautiful.’

While Simon revealed via Twitter today: ‘Off to Cologne to promote I CAN for Universal Germany exciting stuff nice to be back on the road again!’

He will join his band mates Lee Ryan, Antony Costa and Duncan James on stage to represent the UK this week in Eurovision’s Song Contest.

Rehearsals: Boy band Blue have been practising their routine to represent the UK in the Eurovsion Song Contest this Saturday night

The big day was a week ago, but for the brands Kate wore, celebrations are only just beginning

By LIZ JONES

Sell out: Demand has surged for bridal dresses like the Alexander McQueen gowns Kate wore

All eyes have swivelled to the new Duchess of Cambridge to take up the baton and help our fashion industry limp out of the recession.

Becoming the unofficial style ambassador is the best job Kate can be doing for our morale and the economy.

But every brand (and they were all British) involved in the wedding, in however small a way, has seen sales go through the roof.

By far the biggest surge in orders has come from the U.S. We can expect these to increase when Kate goes there on her first official tour in the summer.

In demand: The perfumee Kate wore was Illuminum's White Gardenia Petals

THE FRAGRANCE
On her wedding day, Kate wore White Gardenia Petals from Illuminum, created by British ‘nose’ Michael Boadi.

The clean, fresh scent has a note of coconut bursting into ylang ylang, lily of the valley and jasmine, with amber wood as the base note.

Demand is so high there is a waiting list of customers longing to smell like the royal bride.

White Gardenia Petals costs £70 and is available exclusively from roullierwhite.com

THE EARRINGS
While Kate’s tiara was made by Cartier and borrowed from the Queen, her stunning earrings were a gift from her parents.

The diamond-set oak leaves with a pear diamond drop and pave-set diamond acorn were inspired by the new Middleton coat of arms.

Unavailable: Robinson Pelham won't be making anymore earrings like the Duchess', despite requests

BRIDESMAID DRESSES
Having designed children’s wear for 30 years, Marlborough-based Nicki Macfarlane is renowned for her exquisite outfits for bridesmaids and pageboys. She made the four young bridesmaids’ dresses: ballerina length, box-pleated ivory silk satin gazar, layered over organza, wild silk and petticoats.

They were handmade in Wiltshire and Kent, given an English lace trim and embroidered with the child’s name.

Pretty: The young bridesmaids, pictured with Maid of Honour Pippa Middleton in an Alexander McQueen design, wore handmade dresses by Nicki Macfarlane while their shoes were by the Rainbow Club

BRIDESMAID SHOES
Rainbow Club, based in Exeter, has been designing, making and hand-dyeing wedding shoes since the mid-Eighties.

Kate’s bridesmaids wore classic Mary Janes in satin, embellished with a Swarovski crystal buckle. Sales manager Richard Coles says: ‘We’ve been run off our feet, with people calling from all over Europe and the U.S.’

Why did Kate choose this little firm of 30 employees?

‘For the quality. We guarantee we will dye a shoe to match the exact colour of the dress. The Royal Wedding shoes were a special shade of ivory.’

Children’s bridesmaid shoes start at £30, rainbowclub.co.uk

THE HATS

Vivien Sheriff is a milliner who has her atelier in a decidedly unglamorous farm building in Wiltshire.

She made the famous fascinator worn by Kate on her first royal engagement in February, and was commissioned by 53 guests to make bespoke pieces.

Every piece is handmade by a team of six. An elaborate headpiece can cost up to £1,000. Since the wedding, online sales have doubled.

Best foot forward: Kate stepped into married life wearing LKBennett wedges

'The Kate': The shoes have been re-issued in her name

COURT SHOE WEDGES

The day after the wedding, Kate teamed a wintry blue Zara dress with a cropped black blazer and LK Bennett Greta wedges, £150. This prompted the chain to reissue the style, renaming it the Kate. It will be available in June, but already has a waiting list.

The Kate effect has meant sales of all wedges have soared at Topshop, Hobbs and even Christian Louboutin.

Get stuck in girl! Adele enjoys an al fresco lunch with chopsticks and cocktails

By Daily Mail Reporter

Chopsticks and Cocktails: Adele enjoyed al fresco lunch with friends at an eatery in Notting Hill yesterday and showed off her chopstick skills

Negotiating food with chop sticks can be a tricky business but Adele seems to have mastered the knack.

The Someone Like You singer was spotted making the most of the sunny weather in Notting Hill yesterday enjoying an al fresco lunch with friends.

Adele, 22, proved to be a proficient chop stick user and was seen enjoying an assortment of oriental food with two friends.

She was also spied indulging in a post-meal cigarette and the girls group also appeared to enjoy espresso martinis following their lunch.

The singer appeared relaxed as she soaked up the sunshine but despite the warm day she kept covered up in an all-black outfit with a thick knee-length cardigan.

Adele shielded her eyes with a pair of on-trend cat eye style black sunglasses and had her hair which appeared lighter than in recent week blow dried into a sleek mane around her shoulders.

Soaking up the sunshine: The girl group drank cocktails and enjoyed the warm weather eating outside at the Notting Hill restaurant

Last month Adele revealed that she was a lover of fine wines and subsequently paid a trip to an upmarket wine merchant in Primrose Hill before head to James Corden’s house to presumably wet his son’s head.

And the singer can certainly afford to indulge as last week it emerged that she had entered music’s rich list after accumulating a £6million fortune.

Wrapped up: Despite the sunshine Adele, who has been listed as having a £6million fortune in a recent Rich List, was dressed in an all black outfit with a thick cardigan

Her fortune puts her at 9th place according to The Sunday Times rich list tying her with singer-turned fashion boutique owner Lily Allen and Welsh warbler Duffy.

And her wealth is hardly surprising given her chart success and her current album 21 has enjoyed six weeks at the top of the charts in the U.S. and Adele enjoyed sitting at the top of the U.K. charts for a consecutive 13 weeks.

Copy Kate: SamCam joins VIP High Street gang as she ALSO chooses Zara for first appearance since royal wedding

By Deborah Arthurs

High street sisters: Samantha Cameron pairs a Zara tee with Joseph skirt for an outing to Mayfair restaurant George's last night, while the Duchess of Cambridge chose a blue dress from the label as her going-away look

High Street store Zara received yet another boost today as Samantha Cameron chose to wear a piece from the label to dine in Mayfair last night.

The move comes just days after both Kate, Duchess of Cornwall and Pippa Middleton were seen in outfits from the store.

The PM's wife, who turned 40 last month, paired a simple black Zara scoop-necked tee with a navy lace pencil skirt from Joseph, accessorised with a white Smythson clutch bag and pumps from LK Bennett - a store that is also favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge.

Mrs Cameron's decision to wear Zara comes at a time when the Spanish-owned label couldn't be hotter.

Following news that Kate and Pippa chose Zara for their post-wedding outfits, sales at the store have rocketed, with changing room queues snaking through the shop floor while other high street shops sit empty - despite the fact that both the £49.99 cornflower blue dress worn by Kate and the £69.99 jacket worn by Pippa have long sold out.

Just like Kate and Pippa, the PM's wife, a member of the British Fashion Council and former creative director of luxury accessories brand Smythson, is no stranger to high street labels.

The fashion-forward First Lady artfully blends inexpensive accessories with high design (she wore Aldo shoes with her Burberry dress for the royal wedding), but the fact she has stepped out in Zara at the same time as Kate and Pippa only adds to the store's kudos.

High Street girl: Just like sister Kate, Pippa Middleton chose Zara for her morning-after outfit, wearing a £69.99 Zara blazer paired with white jeans, a £149.99 Modalu bag and £120 Tory Burch pumps

Spokespeople for Zara remained too discreet to discuss their royal appointment, or even comment on fashion-forward Samantha Cameron's choice to wear items from their collection, though it's safe to say that staff welcomed the news.

An insider at the store confided that everybody there was 'very excited' to see Zara's VIP fan base growing so quickly.

'They all looked wonderful,' they added.

Philip Treacy defends Princess Beatrice's opinion-dividing Royal Wedding hat

By Daily Mail Reporter

'Gorgeous and beautiful': Celebrity milliner Philip Treacy has defended the headpiece Princess Beatrice wore to the Royal Wedding last Friday

Princess Beatrice's extraordinary choice of millinery for the Royal Wedding has been subject to rampant internet mockery. But today its designer spoke out in defence of the bold design.

Philip Treacy, who made headwear for a large number of guests including Victoria Beckham, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Zara Phillips, said Beatrice, 22, and her sister Eugenie, 21, looked 'gorgeous and beautiful' at their cousin's high-profile nuptials.

He told HollywoodLife.com: 'My inspiration was beauty and elegance; it's a 21st century royal wedding.

'They didn't tell me what they wanted because I've known them for a long time and I wanted them to look gorgeous and beautiful.'

Brushing off the backlash, he continued: 'They trusted me to make them. Gorgeous and beautiful can be open to interpretation...

'I thought they looked gorgeous and beautiful. But no one is crying if anyone didn't.'

Outlandish: The royal sisters both attracted widespread criticism for their outfits

The 43-year-old had made a dramatic taupe creation for the elder princess to co-ordinate with her Valentino Couture ensemble.

But the oval headpiece in the shape of a bow with trailing ribbons became an internet sensation for all the wrong reasons.

Within hours it had its own Facebook page, titled Princess Beatrice’s Ridiculous Royal Wedding Hat, attracting 133,282 'likes' so far.

And bloggers have wasted no time in poking fun at the fifth in line to the throne’s headgear, creating a host of ‘viral’ mock-up pictures.

The spoofs suggested various uses for the titfer, including a cat flap, a Star Trek stun gun and even a lavatory bowl.

Mr Treacy also designed a hat for Princess Eugenie, which attracted criticism, although not as much as her sister's.

The designer, whose hats have been worn by everybody from Lady Gaga to Sarah-Jessica Parker, typically cost in excess of $1,000.

He explained that his creations were designed to make the wearer 'feel a million dollars'.

'How a hat makes you feel is what a hat is all about,' he said.

'It’s about making you feel a million dollars so when you’ve got something beautiful on your head and the head is the most important part of the body to embellish, because it’s what you meet.

'When you’re wearing something on your head you feel beautiful.'

Hats Off to Royal Wedding Guests

Marie Osmond remarries her first husband... wearing the same dress as 29 years ago

By Chris Johnson

-Singer ties the knot in Las Vegas ceremony
-Day marks the birthdays of her late mother and son

Here comes the bride... again: Marie Osmond remarried her first husband Steve Craig today in Las Vegas

For Marie Osmond it was a case of something old, not something new, as she walked down the aisle for the second time with Steve Craig today.

For not only was the 51-year-old actress remarrying her first husband - she had also managed to squeeze herself into the very dress she wore 29 years ago.

And while she said it felt like the fitting thing to do, the Hollywood star confessed it was perhaps not the most comfortable to wear.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Marie revealed: 'I can't breathe, but I'm in it.'

Marie also told how she had got a new dress designed, but it didn't feel right when she saw the finished product.

'I had a dress all designed [for this wedding] and when it showed up it was not [right],' she told Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart in an interview to be aired tomorrow.

'I was so sad, I was actually kind of in tears,' she recalled, adding: 'I was cleaning out my garage and all of a sudden this box showed up in this pile of stuff … and it was this dress and it was five days ago.

'I'm not kidding. Isn't that crazy?'

Of course she might not have been able to have got into her old dress at all if it wasn't for her dramatic weight loss over recent years.

The singer, a spokeswoman for the portion-controlled diet meals NutriSystem, dropped from a U.S. size 12/14 (British size 16/18) to a size 2/4 (British size 6/8) in four months in late 2007 after losing 45lbs.

Marie, who got married in a Las Vegas ceremony, described today as 'probably the most beautiful day I have had in I don't remember [how long]'.

It was a specially selected date to coincide with the birthday of her late mother and son Michael Bryan, who committed suicide aged 19 last year.

Nice day for a white wedding: The bride, with a bouquet in hand, has the flowing train on her dress held aloft

Take two: Marie and Steve pose for photographs after their nuptials

She also revealed how it was her 28-year-old son Stephen - her only child with Craig - who helped get them back together.

'It was our son who got us to kind of be back together, but [my husband] has been there for me and he's just my best friend, you know, and loves my kids,' she said.

Marie first married former semi-pro basketball player Steve in 1982 with the marriage lasting three years.

Back to the first choice: Marie pictured here with Steve in 1984, two years after wedding No1 and, right, with second husband Brian Blosil who she wed in 1986 before divorcing in 2007

In 1986 she walked down the aisle for the second time with Brian Blosil.

They went on to have two children together - Rachel and Matthew - as well as adopting five children, including Michael who killed himself last year by jumping from the eighth floor of his apartment building in Los Angeles.

Opening up about the wedding, Marie said: 'We chose this day to kind of have Michael here as well.

'It's his birthday, and my mom's birthday, and I don't know, I just kind of feel like she's been on the other side just kind of making this thing happen.'

Marie says she feels complete now, adding: 'Some things I guess were just always meant to be, and time makes you grow up and appreciate things.

'Life is good, you know?

'Everything has been perfect and we just both can't believe it. We're so happy.'

Steve was said to be a huge support to Marie following Michael's tragic death.

The teenager left a suicide note, explaining he intended to end his life after a lengthy battle with severe depression.

In 2007, aged 16, he entered a rehab facility with Marie praising him at the time for his 'courage' in facing his issues.

In the same year Marie and Blosil announced they were divorcing after 21 years of marriage.
