A Girl Can Dream

I always hear people say, "I would NEVER spend X amount of money on that!" Umm, I would. If I had the money that is. I would like these $605 leggings, these $220 Cargos, this $195 dress, and these $495 ballet flats. Am I a bad person? I want to buy them with my own money not someone else's. I don't even have a credit card. I don't have any money now but if I did, I'd pick up a few things. I was thinking about it because I heard a few girls at Target look at the price tag of a pair of shorts and say in horror, "27.99!! Eew. Aren't we in Target?" I don't think I've ever said that in my life. Ideally, I'd wear my $10 Topshop dress with the Stella flats. There's nothing less chic then head to toe designer. I love mixing high and low.

What do you guys spend money on? And what would you NEVER splurge on?

Tweet Of the Day

"Now watching the doc 'Every Little Step' after brunch. For the 5th time. No cliches or stereotypes here."

The adorable Mr. Joe Zee, creative director for Elle magazine. ( I LOVED that doc.)

Exciting Comfort News

When I first moved to the city, I wore heels all the time. Now, I can usually be found wearing my floral BCBG Max Azria Keds, Tom's, or the occasional ballet flat. I need to be comfortable so I can walk A LOT but I don't want to sacrifice style. (A dress, tights, and white Nike's anyone?) There are many exciting casual shoe options as of late. Here are some I'm lovin'.
My sneaks have seen better days.

Loomstate, the organic line of clothes and accessories, teamed with Keds exclusively for Barney's. At $75 a pop, they are a bit pricey but worth it if you wear them as much as I do. The real issue will be, which pair will you choose? (On a dorky note, as comfortable as they are, they need an arch support so the slip in Dr. Scholl's at Duane Reade are great.)

In case you aren't loving the style and design of these Keds, you can design your own! I could play on this website all day. I often send my completed pair to my BFF J who then tells me that hot pink polka dot mixed with plaid will in fact NOT go with everything and I make should another pair. He's usually right.

How cute are these? For some serious walking, New Balance has done a line for Nine West. They're cute AND have New Balance arch support/comfort. The best part? They are on sale.

I have been having dreams about these Lavin sneakers for a while but at around $600 they are a bit out of my price range. May 1st, Michelle Obama stepped out while volunteering in DC in a similar pair. A girl can dream, right?
