Cher Lloyd gets butterflies as she unveils her new - and eighth - tattoo on Twitter

By Georgina Littlejohn

New look: Cher Lloyd unveiled her new butterflies tattoo on Twitter this weekend - and new hair extensions in Miami last week

She already has an assortment of tattoos scattered across her person.

But Cher Lloyd clearly thought that seven was just not enough as she unveiled a new inking this weekend.

The X Factor contestant showed off some new designs on her right arm, an extension of one she already had.

The 17-year-old posted a black and white photo on her Twitter page of her arm, which had been inked with five butterflies.

They were joined by a question mark and a peace sign, as she added to the bird carrying a ribbon that she already had.

On the ribbon is the word 'Boo', a tribute to her late uncle Edward 'Boo Boo' Smith, who died last September after being tricked into taking a heroin substitute.

She had the design inked two months ago and also had an empty birdcage on her left arm to look as though the bird had flown free from it when she put her arms together.

An inquest in December heard how Mr Smith, 34, was found dead in his Malvern, Worcestershire home after being 'deceived' into taking a lethal dose of methadone.

Cher wrote on her Twitter: 'Happy birthday Uncle Boo, missing you. New tattoo. Xxxx.'

In an interview last year, Lloyd admitted: 'I’m not even old enough to have a tattoo, but I have three. I know it’s naughty.'

She also noted Cowell - who has signed her to his Syco label - doesn't approve of her body art: 'Even though Simon doesn't approve of tattoos the thing is I'm my own person and think it'd be cool to get another one.'

Paying tribute: Cher had a bird flying from a cage done in March, which she added the butterflies to

Cher already has a bow on her back, musical note on her left hand and Spanish phrase on her right arm which reads Bolsillo Lleno De Suenos' - which means 'pocketful of dreams'

In January, she then got song lyrics on her left arm - 'All That You Have Is Your Soul' - lyrics from a Tracy Chapman song of the same name, and an image of a large diamond on her right hand

The red has gone: Cher has got rid of her fiery locks for a more sophisticated colour

Tattoo fan: Cher also has a diamond on her right hand and song lyrics on her left arm

Cher also unveiled a new hairstyle as she landed in Miami last week, where she had the tattoo done and where she is believed to be working on her debut album.

The long brown hair extensions come a month after she ditched her fiery red locks for a sleek dark bob, which she added too with caramel and blond extensions.

More etchings: She also has a musical note on her left hand and a Spanish phrase on her right forearm

Not enough: She even has a bow inked on her lower back

Anything Cher Lloyd can do... Now X Factor reject Katie Waissel unveils new 'do after having hair extensions

By SARAH BULL

New 'do: X Factor reject Katie Waissel showed off longer locks after having hair extensions as she arrived for an interview on The Alan Titchmarsh Show

Just hours after her X Factor competitor Cher Lloyd unveiled her new hairdo, Katie Waissel has done exactly the same.

The 24-year-old singer showed off long blonde hair after having extensions to make her look more glamourous.

Katie debuted the look as she arrived at the ITV studios yesterday for an interview and performance on The Alan Titchmarsh Show.

What a difference: The glamorous new style is a sharp contrast to her previous gamine crop

It was the first time Katie had treated fans to a look at the new 'do, having told them on Twitter earlier this week she was having help to get longer hair.

She wrote: '@ClareBearLdn is currently making my hair magically grow!!x'
As well as performing her new single The Ugly Truth on Titchmarsh's ITV show, Katie told the host she had struggled to cope with a lot of the negative criticism she received during her time on The X Factor.

But Katie insisted she never considered giving up because she had too many people relying on her.

Anything Cher can do: Katie's unveiling of her new style came just hours after Ms Lloyd tweeted a photo of her newly-dyed hair

She explained: 'I didn't want to give up. There were too many people out there who believed in me like my friends, my family and my Waissel Warriors who were supporting me and I just thought, "I'm not going to give up, it's not going to break me".'

Katie also revealed one of the lowest points during her time on the X Factor was when she was told she had received death threats.

She said: 'I don't understand where it all came from. It did get quite bad at some points.

'I think one of the lowest points was when I was in the car on the way to the studios for rehearsal and I got a phone call saying I had to go back to the house because there had been serious death threats against me with which the police had to get involved.

Style chameleon: Katie has tried various different looks including a long brunette wig and a brown crop during her time on the X Factor

However, Katie came back from the knocks and took to the stage on the X Factor live tour - an experience she thoroughly enjoyed.

Katie said: 'The X Factor tour finished just a few days ago and it was amazing because we got to play such huge venues. I was a little bit nervous and apprehensive after the show but the reaction was so positive - people were cheering and were so supportive and helped build my confidence.'

Cher Lloyd gets a sophisticated new makeover for glossy magazine shoot

By Daily Mail Reporter

Little girl lost: Cher Lloyd defends her image as she poses in a pristine white blouse and Alice band for the new issue of Wonderland magazine

During her time on The X Factor, Cher Lloyd clashed with the show's stylists over which direction her dress sense should take.

So after months in leggings, tutus and hoodies, the 17-year-old was finally coaxed out of her streetwear for a sophisticated magazine shoot.

Her dyed red hair was been straightened, groomed and pushed back with a preppy Alice band as the reality star poses in a white blouse in the new issue of Wonderland magazine.

In another shot, the singer looks like a lady who lunches - red hair aside - in her satin top and pearl earrings.

Discussing her decision to dye her hair from dark brown to red earlier this year, she told the magazine: 'I wanted something that would sort of represent me, that’s fiery and outgoing. So I thought a bit of a red would do me good. I want to get my nose pierced too.'

Despite issues over her costumes for the live X Factor shows, Lloyd relished the chance to show a different side to her usual haphazard style of dressing.

Although Lloyd, from Worcestershire, has been accused of copying mentor Cheryl Cole and Rihanna, she insists it's her own style.

Lady who lunches: The 17-year-old singer admits the negative press does bother her, insisting she's just trying to be herself

She said: 'I want to go for something completely different. I’d just like people to see me as me. What’s the point in comparing?'

Despite coming fourth in The X Factor last year and ending up in the sing-off on several occasions, record bosses are convinced Lloyd could be the next big thing and offered her a record deal.

She spent several weeks in Los Angeles earlier this year recording her debut album, which is due for release in August.

But despite her fierce ambition, she admitted it was hard to read the negative press about her.

She said: 'Well, I’m just a normal 17-year-old girl and I do have major feelings.

'Sometimes things that people say do really affect me, whether it’s about the way I look, or the way that I’m acting. It can get me really stressed out. And it’s like, give me a little break. A week of somebody being nice to me would be lovely.

'That’s the thing that I want to get across. And it’s about my music, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.'

So that's why Cher Lloyd looks the picture of health - she lives on greasy portions of chips

By Daily Mail Reporter

'Look, I do eat, honest!' Cher Lloyd points at the large portion of chips she was seen scoffing in Brighton today

She's endured months of speculation about her thin frame - but Cher Lloyd seemed determined to prove the doubters wrong by getting stuck into some chips as she walked along Brighton seafront earlier today.

The 17-year-old flame-haired star was tucking into a large portion of the traditional seaside snack ahead of the X Factor Live date at the Brighton Centre tonight, where she'll be joined by other finalists from last year's show.

However, the greasy fare could certainly explain why the star has been sporting such a spotty complexion of late, if not her underweight body.

Beside the seaside: The X Factor star was tucking into her greasy treat ahead of her appearance of the X Factor Live tour in the city tonight

Ever since the wannabe superstar auditioned on The X Factor, there have been worries about her slender figure with fears that she could be suffering from an eating disorder.

The fears weren't exactly eased when Cher pulled out of the tour's date in Manchester on Tuesday after falling ill.

Officially, a throat infection was blamed. But many people - including fellow contestants - have been worried that the frail teen simply isn't eating enough.

Spot the problem: The popstrel's diet of chips could be to blame for last week's pimple outbreak, right, which is only just beginning to clear up today, left

Nevertheless, the former student from Malvern, Worcesteshire, insisted last year: 'I am eating. There is no problem. Of course I am eating I wouldn’t be able to perform if I wasn’t.'

And the pint-sized popstrel seemed determined to allay rumours that her no-show was nothing to do with a lack of food by shoving down the deep fried al fresco snack today.

However, Cher was covering up her lack of curves with baggy casual wear - and and her rather spotty complexion with her usual heavy foundation.

The star was wearing a grey marl padded bodywarmer, grey marl sweatpants, a lemon yellow and grey marl striped top and tan coloured Adidas trainers to go with her over-sized designer handbag.

Crest of a wave: Cher appeared to be enjoying her day at the seaside in the sun today

Her hair was scraped back into a rather harsh high pony tail, much like the 1990s fabled 'Croydon facelift' hair style.

Cher was also wearing clashing bright pink lipstick with clashed somewhat with her magenta dyed hair.

She's on the road on the X Factor Live tour with Katie Waissel, Aiden Grimshaw, Rebecca Ferguson, Matt Cardle, Paige Richardson, Mary Byrne, Wagner and One Direction.

They play a second date at the Brighton Centre tomorrow before moving onto London's O2 for three shows, including a matinee and evening shows on Saturday March 19 and another date on Sunday March 20.

It then heads to Nottingham, Newcastle, Aberdeen and Glasgow before wrapping up at Cardiff Arena on April 5 and 6.

Is the X Factor tour taking too much of a toll? Cher Lloyd looks thinner than ever while Katie Waissel 'needs a vacation'

By Daily Mail Reporter

Taking its toll? Cher Lloyd looks thinner than ever while Katie Waissel 'needs a vacation' as they continue the X Factor tour in Manchester today

As former X Factor contestants, Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel are currently travelling around the UK on the show's tour.

But it seems the manic schedule and energetic choreography make have taken too much of a toll on the pair, who stepped out in Manchester today ahead of tonight's performance in the city.

While Cher, 17, looked thinner than ever, baring her stomach in a cropped T-shirt, Katie, 24, wore a top bearing the slogan 'I need a vacation'.

It's not the first time Cher has sparked concerns over her weight, as many people speculated she was struggling to find time to eat during her time on The X Factor.

But she insisted at the time: 'I am eating. There is no problem. Of course I am eating I wouldn’t be able to perform if I wasn’t.'

In addition to looking very slender, Cher also missed the tour's Tuesday night performance at Manchester's Arena after falling ill.

Slender: Cher has always denied rumours she has a problem with her weight and insists she eats healthily

Despite being offered refunds, it appears most of the fans were content to attend the concert, with Scouser Rebecca Ferguson receiving the biggest cheers of the night.

Liverpool Echo's critic Jade Wright said: 'Cher was on the bill, but cancelled due to a throat infection. Fans were offered a refund before the show, but judging from the crowds inside, few returned their tickets.'

Cher has been sporting an eclectic mixture of outfits during her time on tour.

Yesterday, Cher teamed her attention-seeking hair with a clashing ensemble of patterned floral skirt, grey tights, orange ankle socks white blouse, grey Mackintosh and cream heeled loafers.

Eclectic: Yesterday, Cher appeared to have embraced Japanese street style in her latest fashion statement

A style of many colours: The 17-year-old opted for red, grey, white, black, orange, cream and a multi-coloured skirt

The unusual style appeared reminiscent of the street fashion of the Harajuku suburb of Tokyo.

Japanese teens who follow the Harajuku movement like to combine a variety of different dress styles, including Gothic Lolita, Visual Kei and Decora.

American pop star Gwen Stefani popularised the style outside of Japan with her dance troupe of 'Harajuku Girls', who accompanied her during her Love. Angel. Music. Baby. album in 2004.

On Thursday, Miss Lloyd was also attracting attention for her questionable make-up when she matched her bright red hair with the same shade of lipstick.

And today, Cher went for frilly white socks over grey tights, teamed with denim shorts, grey boots and a black jumper and matching coat.

Going east? Cher Lloyd appears to have embraced Japanese street style in her latest fashion statement in Manchester

She's already been accused of copying her mentor Cheryl Cole and superstar Rihanna.

But now it appears Cher Lloyd may be looking further afield for fashion inspiration - the 'Harajuku' street-style of Japan.

Spotted leaving her hotel in Manchester in between her matinee and evening performances on The X Factor Live Tour, the 17-year-old debuted a shorter new hairstyle.

Her hair extensions had apparently been removed and replaced by a blunt red bob.

Earlier this week, she unveiled her eighth tattoo - a tribute to her father.

She had the word 'Daddy' and a heart placed on her right hand, in addition to another tribute to her late uncle last week.

At 17-years-old she is still under the legal age to have a tattoo although she now has quite a collection of different designs all over her body.

The teenage singer has not left her mother Diane out from her permanent tributes and she has the lyrics from a Tracy Chapman All That I have Is Your Soul song, which is her mother’s favourite track, on her left arm.

Cher also has a bird carrying a ribbon and a birdcage on her forearms in memory of her uncle Edward 'Boo Boo' Smith, who died last September after being tricked into taking a heroin substitute.

Off to the circus? Cher Lloyd clowns around with her red hair and matching lipstick

By Daily Mail Reporter

Clowning around: Cher Lloyd's bright red hair clashed with orangey red lipstick as she shopped in Liverpool today

She's been a regular feature in the media since her first X Factor audition last year.

But shopping in Liverpool today, the teenager looked like she was auditioning for the circus with her red hair and bright lipstick.

The clashing colours and her stripey jumper made the 17-year-old look slightly clown-like.

Lloyd dyed her hair last month the exact same shade as famous clown Ronald McDonald.

Despite suffering a throat infection earlier in the week, Cher looked in good spirits today as she shopped with friends at the Liverpool 1 shopping centre.

Perhaps picking up some presents for her father Darren's birthday, Lloyd spent up a storm in Bank, Kiehl's and Chanel.

And in a sign she has already netted a lucrative salary since appearing on the X Factor, Miss Lloyd was wearing Vivienne Westwood earrings.
