Tie-Dye: Do or Don't?

I get on these weird obsessive kicks about things. Like, for example, I wanted dark jeggings and it's all I could see. I went to Zara before work, Forever 21 at 10 PM after work. Must. Find. Them. Sometimes I find the perfect thing, but usually I either settle or the obsession weans. Right now, I'm wanting everything tie-dye.

Nicky Hilton is a Gypsy Zipper Skirt: On Sale!

Kate Bosworth loves her tie-dye!

I love this dress. It really suits her.

Fancy tie-dye? Jessica Biel in Oscar de la Renta

The colors of this Lotta Stensson tank feel new.

I'd buy this under $20 Forever 21 top to try the trend without spending a whole paycheck.

These Charley 5.0 Skinny Leggings are everywhere. I think Ri pulls them off!

Are you as big of a tie-dye fan? Or should it stay at the beach?

OMG of the Day: Olsens Do Jeans

MKO and Ashley can pretty much do no wrong in my book. I love their personal style, The Row, Elizabeth and James, and Olsenboye. What I'm NOT thrilled about? Their $400 jeans. COME ON. They better be the most amazing feeling, comfortable, make-me-look-like-a-size-zero, jeans. But I doubt it. Want to try them? You can get them at Barney's. And they're Style.com's Item of the Day. While I appreciate the effort and attempt at something different then the tired jegging, I think I'll pass. If you like the look, try these for $35!

Do or Don't: The FitFlip Clog

I can be a tiny bit, ahem, critical of some "fashions." Shearling Ugg boots, flip flops, summer scarves, exposed bra straps, they all make me shudder. In this August's Elle Magazine, FitFlop's new Happy Gogh clogs are featured having just arrived via London. I think regular FitFlops are super ugly but I'm sort of liking these. What do you think? Too orthopedic? I bet they feel amazing on my painful feet. They're being sold at stylish store Kirna Zabete in NYC. I'm going to go try them on. Will let you know if they're comfortable!

As Seen on TV

I know a lot of blogs made fun of the Cami Secret but I want it so bad. The You Tube video IS pretty ridiculous but it's sort of like they are speaking to me. Last weekend, I wanted to wear my new maxi dress and it was just a tad too low cut. I literally did everything they do in this stupid video-safety pins and all. I finally settled on another layer in this sweltering heat with my normal cami. This little square of fabric is genius! Has anyone tried it? Do you think it'll work or just look completely ridiculous?

Nail Polish on Guys: Hot or Not?

I'm seeing more and more men wearing nail polish. I'm not talking about punk rock 14 year olds. I'm talking seriously hot guys, like True Blood actor and Calvin Klein model Mehcad Brooks (above.) The rules are as follows: 1. No pastel colors. 2. No toenail polish. 3. Keep them very short and clean. 4. There are no rules if you are 4 years old!

Not So Basic Basics: Help!

I decided that my wardrobe has zero basics so I went to H&M for some tanks, black pants, etc., and this is what I came home with. OK, not exactly basic but cute, right? The t-shirt was less than $10 and I think the pants were $30 (and 25% goes to Fashion Fights Aids.) The pants are definitely harem pants-y but not too much and they are gauzy and super comfy. The question is, what shoes? These black ones will probably look the best but I'm feeling lazy and I want to wear my gold Toms. Or I guess I could wear black gladiator sandals? What do you think? I need your opinion!

How Do You Do Casual?

I usually wear a dress every day but sometimes I feel like looking a little sporty, a little tomboy, with a twist, of course. The problem is, I'm terrible at it. I'm not a big fan of jeans. I have a legging pair and some black skinnies. I don't feel like heels: My feet hurt and I'm tired but I still want to look cute. I actually try to not wear a dress some days. Usually I end up just looking weird. Last weekend, I worked Saturday and it's casual so I wore black Lululemon pants, gold glitter sneakers, a Saved by the Bell tee, puffy shoulder cardi, and a headband with a bow. SO random. Oh, and glasses. I want to look more effortless. And chic. My 1950s curves don't really work with tomboy clothes but girls like Scarlett do it so well so I should be able to. Any ideas? What do you wear on casual days?

Toning Down the Sexiness

Fendi

Dior

I will try almost every trend, I wore a silver turban to the beach and harem pants to the office, but there is one HUGE trend that it looks like I will be skipping. It's not that I'm against the underwear-as-outerwear look, it will just never work on me this literally. Can you imagine what my Ds would look like stuffed into a lacy bra under a sheer top? Like Pamela Anderson on DWTS. Not sexy. There are a few ways I am thinking about trying this trend.

OK, stay with me here. Marc Jacobs makes everything look more wearable. I love these I Dream of Jeanie looking pants. I would wear them with wooden clogs, a white tank, and a structured blazer. This way, I can make the pajama trend work without showing my goods.

These are a great, affordable, more tone downed, option. $42.27! Asos.com.

You can also rock the sheer shirt with a cami like this cute one from Patterson J. Kincaid. Buy it here. A black cami would look great but maybe try a color? How chic would yellow look?

Fall Trend Watch: Flares?

When I heard flares were back in, I literally shuddered. Is this how people who were around in the 80s feel about neon? Flared pants just feel so...1997. But then I looked at some of the Fall shows on Style.com and I have to say I'm leaning toward trying them again. Check out some of the looks I pulled from them.

I don't care how short I'll look. These Prada pants are super chic.

In Derek Lam, I'll look much taller, and leaner.

I love these Chloe pants. So beautiful and flattering.

What do you guys think? I am a little sick of skinny pants. Will you rock flares again?

Me? Classic?

I saw a girl on the A train carrying this J. Crew bag and she looked really cute. We know I'm coveting this backpack, but this one is $80 and can be a backpack or a tote. What do you think? Can I work this? Or is it too tomboy?

I also saw this one in May Vogue but can't find it on the Tory Burch website yet.

Jonathan Larson is Rolling Over in His Grave

WHAT IT WRONG WITH NEIL PATRICK HARRIS? According to Playbill, High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens will be playing Mimi in the Hollywood Bowl's production of Rent. NPH is directing. I don't dislike Vanessa, you know I'm a total tween, but can she sing well enough for "Out Tonight?" Ugh, can you imagine? I'm interested to hear upcoming castings. Who's playing, Roger, Justin Bieber? Actually, this sounds amazingly campy as a made-for-TV movie.

Child's Play

I've been accused of having "baby brain." I think it's less about my reproductive system as it is about the amount of crazy cute kids clothes popping up, like the INSANELY cute Stella McCartney for Gap. (And of course, I DO love kids and can't wait to have some, someday.) I stopped in American Apparel today, which I love and love-to-hate at the same time. But more love. They had some new stuff, like cute frilly socks and $6 nail polish in fun spring shades. I just had to snap some pics of the kids' clothes. Sorry some of them are sideways-my computer isn't cooperating!

Look at these leggings! With little white Keds?

A 4 year old can rock the tie-dye trend while being age appropriate.

Lots of Sesame Street onesies

Ridic cute cardigans.

I love these gloves and yes, they are suspenders!

They have these tees for adults but they do look kid-friendly.

On trend striped sweaters

Lame leggings and Sesame Street

Dozens of awesome button ups

Part of me thinks kids should look like KIDS, not like Suri Cruise in heels (shudder.) I do think there's a stylish middle ground. What do you think? Would you dress your kids this trendy?

The Blackberry Bling

I've seen this trend around and thought it was so funny and cute. Then I saw it on Glamour.com and had to try it. I smile when my super sparkly thumbs type so why not? Try it! It's just nails ;)

Flower Power

I wouldn't say I'm the girliest of girls. When picking clothes, I usually go for cute and fun over pretty. But this spring, I'm obsessing over florals. Pairing them with black tights or a blazer makes a flower print more Zac Posen and less Lily Pulitzer.

Sienna does it perfectly.

This dress gives me CHILLS. AHHH I want it! If you have £695.00 get it here.
Liberty of London for Target
Floral Empire Dress at Kohl's

Ginnifer Goodwin in Prada

The perfect every day dress (except for the price tag.) Stella McCartney

I'm obsessed with the Liberty of London for Target bike. I don't want to ride it anywhere, just sit in my apartment and look pretty.

I'm also crushing on these flats and this crazy but adorable hat. What do you think? Cute or like your grandma's couch threw up?

Springtime Clogs

Alexa Chung in Chanel clogs

Left, Chanel, Right Louis Vuitton

What do you think about the clog trend for Spring? I'm leaning towards liking them but I'm still not sure. Are they hard to walk in? Does your foot fall out? Will I look shorter? I do love me some clunky shoes with pretty spring clothes so they could work. Here are some I found that are more affordable. Like?
I NEVER thought I'd wear anything by Ugg. But these are cute, right? And they are short enough to walk in and the nude color will make my legs look longer. I just wish they didn't say the brand on them. They do have size 5! Major plus. $130 at Zappos.
The always on trend Steve Madden. $140

Colin Stuart Victoria's Secret $58! But the 4.5 inch heel is a little much, yes?

Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent at Shopbop.com I know $350 is not exactly affordable but they're amazing! I'd wear them to bed, I swear. Of course, the smallest size is 6.5. Grrrrrr.

Now I'm getting excited and am jumping on the clog train. Coming?

I haven't though much of Valentine's Day. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan when I am in a relationship and now that I'm single, I was extra not-interested. Now, I have an invite to Fashion Week, the Araks show, and my friend Lillias White's midnight concert. Now, I have excuse to buy a new dress! It's going to be a blast. Maybe I'll even meet a straight guy? Help me pick a dress!
