Two Toned Hair: Hot or Not?

This look is still going strong! What do you guys think? Cute? Or does it just look like you need your hair done? I think I like it.

2010 CFDA Awards

Who: The Council of Fashion Designers of America
What: The "Oscars of Fashion" presenting awards and scholarships
Where: Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center NYC

Womenswear Designer of the Year Marc Jacobs presented by Jessica Biel (in DVF)
Jessica is getting a little flack for this dress but I love it. I really believe a dress doesn't have to be super fitted to be incredibly chic.

Menswear Designer of the Year Rag and Bone's David Neville and Marcus Wainwright presented by Anthony Mackie
This one surprised me but in a good way. Much deserved. They are a great company and I've heard wonderful things about how they are to work with.

Accessory Designer of the Year Alexis Bittar (with Iris Apfel in Balenciaga) presented by Dakota Fanning in Marchesa.
Alexis looks the epitome of fierce. I have a few of her accessories from vintage stores and I get so many compliments. Beautiful. What do you think about Dakota Fanning's dress? I feel like we've seen it before.

Ed Westwick and Alexa Chung (in Marc Jacobs) presented the Swarovski Awards for Emerging Talent to (from left) Jason Wu for Womenswear, Richard Chai for Menswear, and Alexander Wang for Accessory
Ed is yummy. His suit fits him beautifully. Alexa's dress is awesome and the shoes? Perfection. They are so different. I want them. I love all the winners here! It almost seems like they aren't "emerging." They're there!

Anna Wintor presented Michael Kors with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. (Daughter Bee Shaffer is in Thakoon.)
Anna is just Anna but I'm loving Bee's print of that dress. And the style is amazing on her. I wish she'd done something with her hair though. I guess she's trying to do the "signature" thing like her mom. Is Kors old enough for Lifetime Achievement?

Sarah Jessica Parker honored designer and friend Alexander McQueen (wearing a dress by him.)
I'm coveting this dress and this COLOR more than anything. SJP is still the queen.

Donna Karen, wearing her own design, presented Christopher Bailey with the International Award. Bailey is seen here with Burberry's Angela Ahrendts.
At first I kind of hated Karen's dress. The color and the crazy amount of material is growing on me. I'm really happy Chrisopher Bailey won this award. He SO deserves it.

Fashion Director of Vogue, Tonne Goodman, won the Eleanor Lambert Award presented by Caroline Kennedy. She wore Michael Kors.
This isn't a big surprise to me that she won but still nice, as is her ensemble.

Brooke Shields, in J. Mendel, presented Paper Magazine's founding editor and publisher Kim Hastreiter the Eugenia Sheppard Award for excellence in journalism.
A self proclaimed "outsider," Kim is one of the most talented, and cool, people in the business. I would give my left leg to work with her. Brooke looks fine.

Isabella Rossellini, here with Francois Nars, presented Iman with the Fashion Icon award.
POWER COUPLE. Enough said.

Doutzen Kroes, in Michael Kors, presented the Popular Vote award to Ralph Lauren.
Really? Most popular vote? Not very exciting. Doutzen is though. She ROCKS. Look at her body!

Some of my favorites were also there:

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, in their line The Row, with Sasha Pivovarova, also in The Row.

Zac Posen with Devon Aoki in a dress by the designer.

Lara Stone in Calvin Klein Collection with Francisco Costa.
Lara just became the new Kate Moss as the exclusive face of Calvin Klein!!

Uber-hot Zachary Quinto with Simon Spurr wearing a suit by the designer.

Diane Von Furstenburg, in her own design
She told the audience, "The CFDA premotes diversity and health. I beg you to remember that when you're planning your next show." Love her.

The Rodarte girls Kate and Laura Mulleavy

Blake Mycoskie, wearing the cutest Toms, and John Whitledge.

Who is your best dressed? I vote Doutzen and SJP!

Liz's Top Models

The Forbes list of the top earning models came out again and it's pretty much the same. Giselle grabs the number one spot, as always. Second is Heidi, followed by Kate, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lime, Natalia Vodianova, Alessandra Ambrosio, Daria Werbowy, Miranda Kerr and Carolyn Murphy. All great models but pretty uninteresting. Aren't you ready for some new faces? Here are some of my personal favorites that I think should be at the top of the list. Some are up and coming, while others who might not be household names, are seriously successful.

31 year old mother of 2, Karen Elson, is the kind of British cool that Kate Moss wishes she were. She's walked every major runway and is the current face of YSL Opium perfume. It was also announced that she is replacing Angelina Jolie as the current face of St. John. Karen is a talented musician too. She has a killer voice and is the founder, and a performer, of NYC political cabaret troupe The Citizens Band. She lives in Nashville with her husband Jack White of the White Stripes where they have a stylish vintage boutique. Karen has a really different, kind of creepy look, that works on the runway and in beauty (below.) I love her hair with her super pale skin. I'm excited to see more of her!

Freja Beha Erichsen is the reason why I cut my bangs. OK, so maybe that isn't the most important thing, but the 22 year old Danish model has major influence in the fashion world (and on me.) She has been in too-many-to-name major campaigns and was was ranked 3rd of the top 50 women on models.com. One of the coolest things? She has not one, but THREE designer accessories named after her: Jill Stuart Freja handbag, Chloe Freja clutch, and Alexander Wang Freja Lace-up boots. Freja is the type of model, and woman, that lives her life her way. Most models don't have tattoos and she has 16. She cut her hair after her management told her not to. Although she has never officially "come out," she is known to have dated some famous NYC women, such as the L Word's Kate Moennig

Uber smart Amanda Moore didn't want to be a model. She started college at 15 to be a veterinarian. Her mile long legs and amazing bone structure got her pulled into the fashion world. Her androgynous looks have scored her campaigns such as YSL, D&G, and H&M. She opened the Spring 2007 Lanvin show at Paris fashion week (pictured above) which was a huge deal. She's been on the cover of Italian Vogue twice, in 2001 and again in 2008. Amanda has always been open about being gay. She's a great role model for young women, showing that beautiful has many different faces.

23 year old Brooklynite Crystal Renn is currently taking the fashion world by storm. The size 12 model is on her way to becoming a supermodel. High profile contracts with the likes of Lane Bryant and Torrid, and a book she released last year, puts Crystal's income in the 7 figure range (according to wikipedia.org.) Her novel, Hungry, chronicled her struggles with her weight. She starved herself to be a "regular sized" model, going on to gain 70 lbs to become the healthy, beautiful version of herself. Instead of hiding her struggles, Crystal is knocking down walls and speaking about the things in the modeling industry that in the past were kept hidden. In 2007, she booked a contract with retailer Mango, where she wore regular sized clothing and posed with size 2 models. The Mango ads didn't sensationalize Crystal's curves, instead showed her just as a gorgeous woman wearing trendy clothes. She is currently the only plus sized model to appear on the cover of Harper's Bazaar. What's next for Crystal? Maybe a Victoria's Secret contract?

Up and comer Hayley Morley has only been modeling for 2 1/2 years but is already making an impact. At a size 14, Hayley walked the London-based knitwear designer Mark Fast show at London Fashion Week. She's also a student who takes her education seriously. She told Softpedia that she "doesn't want the education to go to waste." Hayley has so much potential. She goes from high fashion to bathing suits, to editorial with ease. This June, she is in Marie Claire France

You may have seen 22 year old Puerto Rican Joan Smalls in Ricky Martin's video for "Radio." Or maybe you saw her as the face of Ports 1981. Either way, you're going to start seeing her everywhere. She was an exclusive for the Givenchy Couture show in Paris and has walked a ton of other big shows in New York. I think she has an amazing look-that skin!

One of my favorite models, maybe ever, is 26 year old Dutch Laura Stone. She has the perfect mix of high fashion and editorial and she looks like she could be your best friend. That's a lot of qualities to have! Laura has pretty much walked for everyone and was semi-exclusive for Prada. She's done campaigns for CK Jeans, DKNY and many others. The May 2009 issue of American Vogue voted her the Face of the Moment. It is known that she kicked alcoholism in 2009. Just this week, she married Little Britain comedian David Walliams in a super glam affair.

Not ALL models have great personal style, but 22 year old Liu Wen from China seems to have it all. Her style is what caught my eye at first and I've followed her career ever since. She's everywhere! She's done Chinese Vogue editorials, Spring 2009 Gap, Barney's, and Converse campaigns, and spreads in Teen Vogue. She was also the first Asian to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Liu, who eventually wants to become a teacher, became the 2nd most booked model in April 2010, booking 70 shows! She is now joining as a face of Estee Lauder. I'm tired for her!

Last but not least is Argentinean Tati Cotliar. This adorable new model is only 20 and opened for Marc Jacobs in New York February 2010. She is the current face of Vivenne Westwood's S/S 2010 campaigns. I think we are going to be seeing a ton of this versatile model!
