The Met Ball is ALWAYS better than the Oscars fashion-wise. There are more interesting people making daring choices. The attendees of the Costume Institute Gala rock some seriously amazing ensembles. Let's start with the Queen:
Co-host Anna Wintour in Chanel looks great super blond. The dress works...only on her.
Co-host Oprah in yummy Oscar de la Renta.
I want to touch it.
I can already hear the haters but I think Margherita Missoni's Missoni dress is awesome.
The bodice is quilted and backless and the headdress is so interesting. She has great personal style!
It's exciting that Sarah Jessica Parker is in beautiful Halston.
She's now the chief creative officer of Halston Heritage.
I'm not always her biggest fan but I LOVE this Valentino gown on Kate Bosworth.
DI. VA. Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
I don't really like her hair but the dress is SO pretty on her.
Chloe Sevigny is definitely one of my Best Dressed in Proenza Schouler with KILLER platforms.
I knew Gisele Bundchen was wearing the amazing Alexander Wang as soon as I spotted this dress.
That being said, not a fan.
I know she'll be on every "Worst Dressed" list, but I really like Kristen Stewart in Chanel.
I think it works and used the sheer trend in an interesting way. I hate her hair though. And I'd like to see her smile ONCE.
Anne Hathaway looks like an urban princess in this beautiful Valentino dress.
Now will she please stop saying that she doesn't think she's pretty?
I don't understand who let Tiny Fey wear this YSL jumpsuit.
It would have been amazing on say, Blake Lively, but it feels flat on Tina.
The legendary Iman schools the young ones in Prada.
Bathrobe twins Vogue's Andre Leon Talley and Woopi Goldberg in Chado Ralph Rucci.
Kooky, crazy, and perfect for them.
Her body rocks but does she always have to show the whole thing?
Diane Kruger can do no wrong in simple but sexy Calvin Klein.
At first I didn't like it, but now I realized I'm just jealous that it would never work on me.
Grown-up Emma Watson in custom Burberry.
It's so interesting close up! (I mean, zoomed in.) I guess it pays to be in the ads.
I love that Gwen Stefani is wearing a dress from her L.A.M.B. collection.
I don't love that it looks like she forgot to take off her black bra.
I know Jessica Biel would rather be climbing a mountain, but this Ralph Lauren Collection gown is crazy flattering and stunning. Justin looks...hot but boring.
Sienna Miller's Emilio Pucci dress reminds me of my senior prom dress. Her shoes ROCK though.
Cute, but always the same, Taylor Swift in all Ralph Lauren Collection.
Zoe Saldana is perfection, while a bit TOO skinny, in Calvin Klein.
I adore navy on the red carpet.
PERFECT arm candy, Joshua Jackson in Calvin Klein.
LOVE.
Liv Tyler, Stella McCartney, and Kate Hudson in Stella's designs.
They all look just OK separately but I think for some reason they look amazing together. The dresses compliment each other really well.
Katy Perry's Cute Circuit dress lights up!!
I kind of think it's amazing. Flattering AND fun.
Kirsten Dunst's Rodarte dress is pretty but wtf is on her feet?
Maggie Gyllenhaal in a really cool Louis Vuitton gown.
I love the sporty/dressiness of it.
I go back and forth on liking Christina Hendrick's L'Wren Scott dress.
The style and cut is amazing but I think maybe it's the color I'm having trouble with.
Emma Roberts looks cute and her age in head to toe Marni.
I hate when young girls dress too old, cough cough, Taylor Swift.
I can't even focus on Eva Longoria's Marchesa dress because of the horror that is her make-up. There's nothing else to say. Shudder.
I'm obsessed with Nicole Richie in Marc Jacobs.
She looks so pretty and young, but still edgy.
Rachel Bilson is wearing one of my favorite dresses of the night in Louis Vuitton.
She's a skinny girl and this makes her look like she has curves. I love the shorter length and her hair is perfection.
Now Rachel Weisz's custom made Oscar de la Renta dress looks almost exactly like my junior prom dress. That's not really a bad thing. The color looks SO good on her and she looks 7 feet tall. And happy. Thank you!
January Jones looks ridiculously hot in YSL. This is bold make-up done right.
I hate to end on a low note, but Rosario Dawson looks too sugary sweet in Giambattista Valli.
She's stunning with an amazing body but this dress does nothing on her.
I know I left some out but they were the ones I didn't feel anything about. Did I leave out any of your favorites? Renee? MIA? Pick for your Best Dressed!
