Lucky Swimsuit Trippin

Another trend this coming season is the halter two-piece. Providing more coverage and support than a traditional bikini, this style is popular because it combines the retro look of a halter with bold color.

The Lucky Swimsuit Trippin' Halter Top has a halter-style neckline, borrowed from halter dresses and blouses of yesteryear with a self-tie at the back of the neck. The front straps of the top feature bead and braid detailing. The top of the halter has removable cups. At the center back is another self-tie which is banded. The top highlights a tie-dye pattern on both front and back and is lined. Because the tie-dying process is performed by hand, each piece is unique. It retails for $72.

The Lucky Swimsuit Tie Side Hipster Bottom coordinates perfectly with the Trippin' Halter Top and is a low-rise style. This lower cut elongates the frame, similar to a pair of low-slung jeans or a skirt. The hipster bottom is much like those in lingerie, which are less revealing than a string bottom. It has side ties which have bead and braid detailing and echo the ties of the halter top. The back provides moderate coverage. Like the top, the bottom is completely lined. It retails for $64.

Lucky Brand is a company associated with nonconformity to rules, personal style and rock and roll. Started by two childhood friends more than two decades back, the company sold its first pair of denim jeans in 1990 and has been a success ever since. The company has expanded to include sportwear, dresses and now swimwear for the younger generation.

The suit would flatter those with a lean midsection and long legs and gives more coverage than a typical two-piece without sacrificing on style. It goes well with a pair of beach pants, cutoff shorts or underneath a coverup dress. The top and bottom are both fabricated from nylon and lycra. The lining is made from nylon. Both pieces are hand washable and imported.
